ArmorSource Expands U.S. Army Support with $17.6 Million ACH Gen II Helmet Award

ArmorSource is expanding production following the award of a $17.6 million contract to manufacture and deliver 25,000 Advanced Combat Helmet Gen II (ACH Gen II) systems for the U.S. Army.

The contract, announced by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) on May 28, 2026, marks another significant milestone for the Ohio-based manufacturer and further reinforces ArmorSource’s role as a trusted supplier of advanced head protection systems to the U.S. military. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027.

“We see this award as a sign of trust from the U.S. government, the U.S. Army, PEO Soldier, and the Defense Logistics Agency,” said Todd Barnes, Government Programs Director at ArmorSource. “This order, together with our ongoing contract for the delivery of 30,000 Advanced Combat Vehicle Crewman (ACVC) helmets, places ArmorSource at the forefront of U.S. government suppliers of advanced lightweight head protection systems. The ArmorSource team is ready to execute this important mission.”

The ACH Gen II helmet system is designed to provide advanced ballistic protection while reducing overall weight and improving comfort for the warfighter. Its lightweight construction, enhanced ergonomics, and proven performance help support mission effectiveness across a wide range of operational environments.

The award builds on ArmorSource’s longstanding partnerships with organizations across the U.S. defense community, including the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and U.S. Special Operations Command. In addition to serving domestic customers, ArmorSource provides helmet systems to military and law enforcement organizations around the world.

The company continues to invest in helmet innovation, recently introducing the AireLink Prime retention system, which features independent left- and right-side micro-adjustments for improved fit and stability. ArmorSource has also expanded its comfort and protection offerings with the AireSupport Max 3D suspension platform, designed to help reduce blunt impact forces while enhancing comfort during extended wear.

Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Hebron, Ohio, ArmorSource designs and manufactures advanced ballistic helmet systems for military and law enforcement professionals worldwide. With the capacity to produce more than 12,000 advanced polyethylene helmet shells per month, the company remains focused on delivering high-performance protective solutions for the world’s most demanding missions.
